Svetlina Stoyanova is a Bulgarian mezzo-soprano, currently studying at the Alexander Gibson Opera School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the vocal tutor Clare Shearer. She recently created the roles of Nerone ("Agrippina"), Veronique ("Le Docteur Miracle") and Mother ("Mavra"). Her repertoire also includes the parts of Octavian ("Der Rosenkavalier"), Rosina ("Il Barbiere di Siviglia"), Cherubino ("Le nozze di Figaro"), Dorabella ("Cosí fan Tutte"), Lucretia ("Lucretia") and Juno ("Semele"). Svetlina performs regularly in recitals sponsored by "Live Music Now". She recently won the third prize in "Le Grand Prix de l’Opera", and was the highest-ranking female singer. Afterwards, she spent a week recording with the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra. Svetlina has received the "Help Musicians UK" Tutton Award and an RCS Trust scholarship.
