Soprano Zarina Abayeva was born in the city of Vladikavkaz. In 2002-2006, she studied at the Valery Gergiev College of Arts under Nelly Chestanova. Afterwards, she entered the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, where she studied under Professor Ruzana Lisician. Since 2012 Zarina has been a soloist with Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2016, she was nominated for the "Golden Mask" national theatre prize, and was also a winner in an international competition in Minsk and won the Gianluca Marciano special prize at the Al Bustan festival in Beirut. Her repertoire includes the parts of Iolanta ("Iolanta"), Tatyana ("Eugene Onegin"), Micaela ("Carmen"), Aida ("Aida"), and many others.
