The bass-baritone Janusz Żak graduated with an MA in solo singing from the Stanislaw Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where he studied under Professor Leszek Skrla. In 2010, he graduated from the Danuta Baduszkowa Musical Theatre Studio in Gdynia. He has performed in the musicals "Francesco", "My Fair Lady", "Spamalot", "Grease" and "Shrek" at the Musical Theatre of Gdynia. During his opera studies, he prepared the roles of Aleko ("Aleko"), Betto ("Gianni Schicchi"), Sarastro ("Die Zauberflöte"), and Greek and Hugo ("Eros and Psyche"). In 2014-2015, as part of his collaboration with the Lübeck International Choir Academy, he participated in concerts in Germany, China and Brazil. In 2016, he joined the Opera Nova company in Bydgoszcz, for which he has sung the following parts: Colline ("La Bohème"), The Monk ("Don Carlos"), Dulcamara ("L'Elisir d'Amore"), Zuniga ("Carmen"), Jagu ("Manru"), and Figaro ("Le nozze di Figaro"). He sang the role of Frank in the operetta "Die Fledermaus" by Johann Strauss. Janusz has performed the parts of Colline and Alcindoro in Giacomo Puccini’s "La Bohème", in collaboration with the Baltic State Opera in Gdańsk.
