Japanese violinist Yuriko Takemoto, born in Kanagawa, Japan, has won several competitions, including Japan National Competition, the 32nd Kanagawa Music Competition, where she was awarded the grand prix and the Governor's Prize. She first studied at the Tokyo University of Arts, and later – chamber music under Tokyo Quartet at the Suntory Chamber Music Academy. She had been supported by the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan, the Lucia Loeser Foundation and the Paul Hindemith Society in Berlin. She was selected as a scholarship holder by Yamaha Music Foundation in 2024. Since 2019, Yuriko Takemoto has been continuing her studies at the Berlin University of the Arts with prof. Latica Honda-Rosenberg, and was also an academy member of the Munich Philharmonic since 2022 to 2024. She is regularly invited as a guest performer to various chamber music and orchestral festivals, such as the Encuentro de Musica y Academia de Santander Festival, Verbier Festival Orchestra, Zermatt Music Festival and Gustav Mahler Academy. She performs on the Andrea Guarneri violin given by the Berlin University of the Arts.
