Sunjae Ok
(1998)
| Южная Корея
Берлинский университет искусств
Профессор | Томаш Томашевский
Sunjae Ok was born in Seoul, South Korea, and showed an exceptional talent for the violin at an early age. Until 2014, he performed regularly with the Euro-Asia Philharmonic and the Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra under Nanse Gum, whom he met by winning numerous competitions. Most of these were fundraising concerts supporting people in the hospital and their families. Sunjae kept running these concerts in a high level, considered them as a very good experience, and they contributed in shaping an important part of his personality. Sunjae also gained valuable experience in masterclasses with renowned professors, such as Shlomo Mintz, Agata Szymczewska, Mi-kyung Lee, Régis Pasquier, Svetlin Roussev, Guillaume Sutre, Tabea Zimmermann, Vineta Sareika, Daniel Stabrawa, Michael Erxleben and Konstantin Heidrich. In 2017, he began his studies at the Berlin University of the Arts with prof. Tomasz Tomaszewski. Since then he has performed throughout Europe, namely in Poland, Belgium, France, Portugal and Italy. He regularly appears as a guest of the Polish String Quartet Berlin. Sunjae has won several awards, including 2nd prize at the 7th International Chamber Music Competition in Bydgoszcz (2020), and 2nd prize at the 2nd International Kreutzer Violin Competition in Ghent (2024). In October 2024, he won the 6th Karol Lipinski Violin Competition in Torun and was also awarded eleven special prizes. Sunjae plays on the ex-Sándor Végh by Guarneri del Gèsu, generously loaned by the Florian Leonhard Fine Violins.
