With international acclaim for his keyboard abilities, Tyler Boehmer (b. 1991) carries much promise as a future organ virtuoso. After completing undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University with Dr. Don Cook, Tyler moved to the University of Kansas to study with Dr. James Higdon. He has also been active in many national and international competitions. Recent accolades include first prize in the Miami International Organ Competition (2019), second prize in the Sydney International Organ Competition (2018), and the diploma prize in the Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ Competition (2017). Besides attending school, T. Boehmer also works for the church where he plays for services and works with the children’s handbell ensemble. In the future, he plans to become a university professor.
