Pijus Česaitis began his violin studies in 2008, displaying a natural aptitude and dedication to music. In 2011, he was accepted into the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, where he studied under the guidance of Vaiva Vaškevičiūtė. From 2017, his musical journey progressed under the mentorship of prof. Ingrida Armonaitė. Throughout his studies, Pijus achieved distinction in numerous national and international competitions. In 2019, he won 2nd prize at the International Competition “Mladi Virtuozi”, and in 2021, he was awarded the grand prix at the XI International Balys Dvarionas Competition for Young Pianists and Violinists. In 2022, he secured 3rd prize at the Kloster Schöntal International Violin Competition, alongside special prizes for the best performance of a sonata and chamber music. Pijus has performed both as a chamber musician in multiple ensembles, and as a soloist with orchestras, including the Kaunas Symphonic Orchestra, St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, and the Symphony Orchestra of the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, with appearances across Lithuania and the countries abroad. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was awarded the Little St. Christopher Award in 2022, by the mayor of Vilnius city. In 2023, Pijus graduated from the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, and is now continuing his studies at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar under the guidance of prof. Friedemann Eichhorn.
