Christine Caroline Lamprea, a Columbian-American, was born in 1989. She studied in the Juilliard School, under Bonnie Hampton and completed her Master’s degree at the University of New England in Boston, under, Natasha Brofsky. Christine’s musical career is very active and widely-ranged – she is a laureate of many national and international competitions and has recently been awarded the Sphinx Medal of Excellence. She has played solo with the symphony orchestras of Costa Rica, Detroit, Houston, New Jersey, and San Antonio, performed in the famous venues of Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Centre. Christine is also a member of chamber ensembles – frequently sharing the stage with the guitarist Jordan Dodson and the pianist Navah Perlman, and has also performed with Shmuel Ashkenasi, Itzhak Perlman, Roger Tapping, Carol Wincenc, and The Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players. Christine has a truly wide repertoire: from traditional Latin America songs arranged for the cello and grand piano or guitar, to baroque opuses or contemporary academic compositions, even going so far as performing with jazz and avant-garde bands. The cellist supplements her concert activities with some pedagogical ones as well – teaching cello at the Texas Christian University School of Music and giving masterclasses.
