Zhang Hailong (b. 2000) studied in China with professor Xu Ning from 2005 to 2018. During this period, he attended international Nice Côte d’Azur and Ville de Gagny piano competitions, winning respectively the third and first prizes. In the format of Daugavpils Piano Masterclasses he has collaborated with Daugavpils Festival Orchestra, performing piano concertos by Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, Frederic Chopin and Franz Liszt. The pianist is studying at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, class of associated professor Toms Ostrovskis. H. Zhang participated in masterclasses of Konrad Maria Engel, Ruoyu Huang, Antonina Suhanova, Nino Jvania, Juris Zvikovs, Antoine Bouvy, and others.
